We’re looking for an

Accounts Assistant


Based in Dublin, and reporting to the SVP Controller, this newly created role will work on behalf of Hamilton’s Bermuda operations with a primary focus on supporting the accounts-payable process and assisting in monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting.

 

What you will do

 

  • Support the day-to-day accounts payable process, including the review of all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before the initiation of payment
  • Prepare general and administrative expense reporting and analysis
  • Post accruals, prepayments, capital and share-based compensation transactions, and intercompany allocations
  • Reconcile period end intercompany balances, and initiate invoicing and settlement of intercompany balances
  • Provide support to relevant IT initiatives and systems projects, as appropriate
  • Initiate payments via the electronic banking system and prepare bank reconciliations
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting and audit processes, including responding to auditor enquiries
  • Identify and assist with implementation of process improvements.

 

What you require for the role

 

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience with SUN accounts general ledger system would be an advantage
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently within a small team, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open-plan working environment
  • Desire to learn and support Hamilton’s bespoke systems
  • Enthusiasm for applying technology to manage projects and increase efficiencies.
