We’re looking for a

Reinsurance Pricing Actuary


Based within the New York tri-state area & reporting to the Senior Vice President Actuary, you’ll support the build out of Hamilton Re’s data-driven underwriting strategy.  Applying your expertise in analysis, pricing, and product development will be crucial to augment the underwriting process used by our Reinsurance underwriting teams.


What you will do

 

  • Develop, implement and maintain pricing tools to ensure consistency in design, parameter benchmarking and rate-adequacy monitoring
  • Develop and enhance approaches to analytical evaluation of a diverse set of exposures within the Reinsurance portfolio
  • Work with the Risk & Analytics team to implement pricing in Hamilton’s propriety underwriting platform
  • Perform calculations using proprietary models to assess a range of risk exposures and predict outcomes
  • Communicate with clients and brokers on information requirements for evaluation of opportunities


What you require for the role


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and preferably within the casualty/specialty reinsurance sector
  • Professional actuarial designation (at least ACAS or equivalent)
  • Ability to communicate findings effectively
  • Experience with programming and database skills preferred
  • Strengths in collaboration, with an open and clear communication style
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to gain the trust of clients, brokers and colleagues
